COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® COMMITTEE Descriptions
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Elected and appointed
REALTOR® members of the Association who make decisions for the Association.
Officers must be Primary HCAR REALTORS.
BYLAWS
Keeps Association's Bylaws current with respect to NAR Policies and local
conditions.
EDUCATION Plan and administer quality
real estate education programs with goal of upgrading professionalism and
knowledge of real estate industry.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY Promote equal
opportunity and affordable housing through education and events. Conduct a
local poster contest and state calendar contest with students.
FINANCE
Plans the budget and overall finances of the Association. Make
recommendations to the Board of Directors for investments.
GRIEVANCE Works as the grand jury in
screening ethics complaints and requests for arbitration. Mandatory training
in Professional Standards is required.
LEGISLATIVE/RPAC Protect the interest of
real property owners before all legislative and regulatory bodies. Initiate
legislation important to REALTORS®; review, analyze and testify on proposed
local and state legislation affecting real estate; develop and maintain
favorable relations with local, state, and federal legislators from Harford
County and Maryland. Conduct programs which involve members in the political
process and exercise influence on behalf of the Association's policies.
Raise voluntary donations used to make campaign contributions to political
candidates at the local, state, and federal levels.
Comprised of both REALTORS® and Affiliate
members.
MEMBERSHIP Publicize qualification
for membership in the Association and promote membership. Foster
communication, openness and participation among the membership in
Association activities. Disburse information of interest to the membership
and provide a forum for thoughts and ideas of the membership.
Comprised of REALTORS® and Affiliate members.
MORTGAGE FINANCE Develop and conduct
annual Seminar providing information on mortgage topics. Develop and
conduct new member financing classes. Comprised
of REALTORS® and Affiliate members.
NETWORKING Provide the opportunity
for affiliate members to promote their business and services at social
events and activities to the REALTOR® membership.
Comprised of both REALTORS® and Affiliate
members.
NOMINATING Solicit and propose
qualified members for election for Association Officer and Director
positions. Comprised of REALTORS® only.
ORIENTATION Responsible for developing,
implementing and improving the orientation program with the goal of
upgrading professionalism and expanding knowledge of the real estate
industry and the association. Comprised of both
REALTORS® and Affiliate members.
POLICY
Study and review the Association's policies in order to recommend amendments
or modifications to the Board of Directors. Comprised of the Executive
Committee only.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS Comprised
solely of REALTORS® of which Hearing and Arbitration Panels are selected.
Mandatory training required. Comprised of REALTORS® only.
ROOKIE
Plan and administer quality real estate education programs and events with
the goal of upgrading professionalism and knowledge of real estate industry
for those REALTOR® members licensed four years or less. Comprised
of REALTORS® and Affiliate members.
SCHOLARSHIP/CHARITY Conducts fundraising
events for Harford County students in need of financial assistance to attend
Harford Community College and other housing industry projects.
Comprised of both REALTORS® and Affiliate
members.
STRATEGIC PLANNING Creates framework
for future action in the form of recommended strategic directions for
Association; analyze real estate industry's environment, issues and trends
of the near future that may affect the membership and the Association.
Comprised of the Executive Committee only.
TRADE SHOW Develop and conduct Harford County Association
of REALTORS® Trade Show.
Comprised of REALTORS® and Affiliate members.
