HARFORD COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® COMMITTEE INFORMATION

AWARDS Receive nominations from the membership for REALTORS of the YEAR; Distinguished Sales Associate of the Years; Affiliate of the Year; etc.; review the activities of possible candidates for each and make the selections for each award.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS Elected and appointed REALTOR members of the Association who make decisions for the Association.

BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP Works with William Pace Elementary School for provide better education and experiences for the students.

BYLAWS Keeps Association's Bylaws current with respect to NAR Policies.

COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL Promote involvement of commercial and development; exchange properties and ideas of a nonresidential nature.

EDUCATION Plan and administer quality real estate education programs with goal of upgrading professionalism and knowledge of real estate industry. 

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY/AFFORDABLE HOUSING Promote equal opportunity and affordable housing.

EXECUTIVE Elected officers of the Association Board of Directors

FINANCE Supervise the preparation of the budget and the overall finances of the Association.

GRIEVANCE Comprised solely of REALTORS®, works as the grand jury in screening ethics complaints and requests for arbitration. Only one member per company. Mandatory training attendance.

LEGISLATIVE/RPAC Protect the interest of real property before all legislative and regulatory bodies. Initiate legislation important to REALTORS®; review, analyze and testify on proposed local and state legislation affecting real estate; develop and maintain favorable relations with local, state, and federal legislators from Harford County and Maryland. Conduct programs which involve members in the political process and exercise influence on behalf of the Association's policies.  Raise voluntary donations used to make campaign contributions to political candidates at the local, state, and federal levels.

MEMBERSHIP Publicize qualification for membership in the Association and promote membership.  Foster communication, openness and participation among the membership in Association activities. Disburse information of interest to the membership and provide a forum for thoughts and ideas of the membership.

MORTGAGE FINANCE Develop and conduct annual Seminar providing information on mortgage topics.

NETWORKING Provide the opportunity for affiliate members to promote their business and services at social events and activities to the REALTOR membership.

NOMINATING Solicit and propose qualified members for election for Association Officer and Director positions.

ORIENTATION Responsible for developing, implementing and improving the orientation program with the goal of upgrading professionalism and expanding knowledge of the real estate industry.

POLICY Study and review the Association's policies in order to recommend amendments or modifications to the Board of Directors

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS Comprised solely of REALTORS® of which Hearing and Arbitration Panels are selected. Only one member per company. Mandatory training attendance.

REGIONAL FORMS Reviews and recommends local forms and amendments to the Board of Directors.

SCHOLARSHIP/CHARITY Conducts annual fundraising event for Harford County students in need of financial assistance to attend College and supports housing related charities.

STRATEGIC PLANNING Creates framework for future action in the form of recommended strategic directions for Association; analyze real estate industry's environment, issues and trends of the near future that may affect the membership and the Association.

TRADE SHOW Develop and conduct Harford County Association of REALTORS® Trade Show.
